So I ordered a Google Pixel (the 5" version) to replace my LG G4 which has been giving me wireless issues (no connection to data and spotty Wifi, though calls and text work fine so I can deal for now). I would like to get a case for it to protect the glass. I never used a case on my G4 as it is a very shock resistant design (plastic and curves for the win!) and there were no cases for it which I liked (I blame the curved display). Back when I had my Galaxy I has a Speck Candyshell which I really liked. They don’t seem to produce that particular design anymore though (at least not the smooth version). I would like to get something that doesn’t add to much bulk to the phone and has a smooth finish.

I was looking at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It looks like a nice, not bulky solution, which also transfers the character of the Pixel through the case (I am in the camp who likes the look of the glass panel on the back). It also doesn’t have a massive gaping hole for the camera and sensors, something a lot of cases for this phone have.

What do you like for cases Oppo? My phone won’t be arriving until sometime next week so I have some time do decide. This is also the first metal phone I have owned so I am probably a bit more concerned than I need to be as both my G4 and my Galaxy were completely fine.

The only thing that survives my GF: LifeProof. Her iPhone 4s went through the wash twice in it, and was literally being held together by it by the end. Got her a new phone based on LifeProof availability galaxy S6.

I’ve got an Ankor thin rubber shell around my iPhone 6, and a sacrificial screen protector. It’s done me well, and is very low profile.

All of my family’s iPhones have lifeproofs. I do really like the design for the iPhone, especially how lightweight they are, but the designs for a lot of the android phones are really bulky and ugly.

It might be cliche, but I like Otterbox. Yes, they are bulky, but they’re indestructible. I am still pissed they never made one for the Nexus 5x. I destroyed the screen dropping it (literally the ONLY TIME I dropped it) with a Spigen case. The Otterbox seems to be the only case that can survive drops or the heavy use a person puts it through.

My Blackberry was protected by an Otterbox, but when I switched to an iPhone, I found an inexpensive BodyGlove case for it. I tried a Lifeproof, but I didn’t like it. The case I have on it is dual layered, but is still fairly low profile. It provides a good place to put the metal disk for a magnetic car mount.

I’ve been using otterbox defenders for years, they are a bit bulky but protect well for everything but water

I run a Magpul Field Case on my iPhone 5. It’s not the be-all, end-all when it comes to protection, but it’s done a pretty impressive job of cushioning falls. Plus it’s easy to grip thanks to both the ribs and the non-slip surface. And I dig the appearance (although it’s certainly not for everyone).

The only downsides are that Magpul only makes them for iPhones and Samsung Galaxy Phones for the time being, and the polymer used gets loose if it goes through many hot-cold cycles over time (I game a lot on my phone). And the pointless export limitation on them if you’re not in the US. Why would phone cases, shirts and plastic pouches to name a few be subject to US export regulations on military equipment? Some odd form of humblebragging?

Generally I stick with slimmer TPU cases that have a bit of a raised edge along the front of the screen. I am generally careful with my phones but they’ve saved my bacon a few times with assorted fumbles.

For my Moto X Pure, I started out with an Incipio Octane which has a hard plastic back and soft edges around the front/sides, but it was bulkier than I really liked.

I then switched to a Cimo slim TPU case and have been pretty happy with it although it’s kinda boring (I have a black phone not white like this pic).Maybe it’s time for a new one, for kicks.

I got this one for my Nexus 6P and have been pretty happy with it. I still haven’t drop the phone so I can’t say how drop-resistant it is, but I love the fact that it wraps around the edges of the screen which protects it from scratches when upside down while being pretty light.

I like my spigen case as well. It’s a little bulky but not terrible. It’s got a kick stand too which I use from time to time.

I like the speck candy shell grip, but I’m fairly easy on pocket computers. I’ve tried lifeproof in the past with very good success- they’re on iPod duty for both my kids.

I wasn’t impressed with otterbox- they’ve really gone downhill in the last 5 years, and just lack durability against “hard use”, aren’t even remotely waterproof, and the screen protectors delaminate from the case after a few months.

I personally run my phones naked, and haven’t cracked a screen yet, but considering getting a case for the Pixel XL I’ve got coming, so thanks for posting this.

Might just go for the official Google case, it looks like it’ll do a decent job of protection.
